The Gardman Paint Your Own Nest Box from DeWaldens Garden Centre is a plain feeder just waiting to be painted with your own designs –  and ideal for keeping children busy!

Once painted, shelter from wind, rain and direct sunlight, keeping the front of the nest box angled slightly downwards to prevent rain from entering.

When fitting, use galvanised or stainless screws / nails that won't rust, and if fixing to trees, use galvanised wire to tie the box to the trunk or hang it from a branch.

Regularly inspect the fittings.

Please ensure cats and squirrels can't get into the box, and install it high up (at least 3 metres) on a wall.
